Familiar, simple
The Garni Wallnöfer has always been a family-run guesthouse, without a lot of frills. We focus on the essentials.
We still uphold this basic attitude in the third generation and do not strive for 5 stars on the house wall, but for the honest satisfaction of our guests within our ‘simple’ four walls.
Strokes of fate, pandemic, staff shortages. A turbulent time in which we stuck to our goals, no matter how shaken we were.
Annual measures are still in place. A new reception system for the televisions to support the new DVB-T2 and DVB-S2 standards. Refurbishment of some sanitary facilities and bathrooms.
Fibre optic internet, district heating, more digitalisation... and constantly planning.
Various maintenance and modernisation measures have been carried out year after year, so that modern technologies such as wireless internet have been introduced, but also comfort has been increased.
The third generation is gradually taking over the day-to-day business.
Second extension and modernisation. All rooms have WC with showers and satellite TV.
First modernisation and expansion with the takeover of the second generation. This allowed more guests to be received and catered for. The rental agreements with the business premises were terminated to make room for the new bar and the new lounge
In order to create a more regular source of income and to finance the high construction costs, the ground floor was converted into commercial premises and rented out.
Due to the damming of the newly built reservoir, a new house was built very simply and small at the current location.
The building materials of the old house, which no longer exists today, were largely used. However, it would stand approx. 4-6 metres deep in the water, not far from today's sailing club.
